Step 1: Identify the item

To start a trade-in, click the New trade-in button available in the Purchases menu, or on the trade-ins page.

Then follow the process step by step.

Step-by-step tutorial — Start a trade-in workflow (6 steps — view in Tango)

1. Select the item model. If the model does not exist, you can create a model and return to the trade-in.
2. Enter the serial number of the item being offered for trade-in.
3. The selling price of the item will be automatically filled in with the data available in your catalog for the selected model. However, you can modify it for this specific item. It will serve as the basis for calculating the trade-in amount.
4. Select the location where you are processing the trade-in.
5. You can enter a source for the item, but this is not mandatory.
6. Click Next.

The serial number is mandatory for each item. However, you may be trading in items that do not have a serial number. In that case, you can enable the random serial number feature.

Step-by-step tutorial — Random serial numbers (4 steps — view in Tango)

1. In the side menu, click on General configuration and scroll down to the Item trade-in block.
2. Enable the "Random serial number generation" option so that it appears when you process a trade-in.
3. The second option (Serial number modification) allows you to modify the random serial number at the end of the trade-in workflow.
4. When the option is active, a new button appears above the serial number field. It allows you to generate a random serial number. These numbers all start with 'RND' followed by digits.
