How to read stock information on the platform.

How to read stock information on the platform.

To check the stock available for rental for one of your products, go to the Catalogue - Products menu. In the product list, a column shows the overall stock across points of sale. Please note, the overall stock is not the quantity of products currently available for rental. It refers to: => the total quantity of products you have entered for this product, minus the quantities of items:

  • that were returned with a "Broken" or "Lost" status after a rental,
  • or that you have manually set to "End of life" status,
  • or that have moved to "Kept by customer" status,
  • or that have moved to "Sold" status.

If your platform is set to "All stores" in the selector at the top right, the column will show the cumulative stock across all points of sale for each product. If your platform is set to a specific store, the column will show the stock for that point of sale only, combined with the stock from its warehouse if it depends on one. To add overall stock at a point of sale or to find out the stock available at a specific point of sale at a given moment, click on the product name to open its detailed page.

It is in the "Stock and delivery" block that you will find this information. Select a point of sale.

And a period. The overall stock and available stock will then appear. You can see two types of stock per point of sale:

  • Store overall stock: this is the overall stock of the point of sale you are viewing
  • Warehouse overall stock: this is the overall stock of the warehouse your point of sale depends on

Stock available at a point of sale for a given period = overall stock of the point of sale minus:

  • items from ongoing rentals from this point of sale
  • items in transit at this point of sale
  • items under repair at this point of sale
  • quantities reserved for upcoming rentals at this point of sale on the entered dates (taking into account any pre-reservation unavailability period configured)
  • quantities of rentals to be returned at this point of sale on the entered dates (taking into account any restocking delay configured)

=> This is therefore the stock actually available on the selected dates, at the moment you check it.

For example, you check your stock on 26/12 to know your stock for the day:

  • you originally entered 10 in stock for this product at this point of sale,
  • 3 rentals ended with the item returned in a broken (non-repairable), lost or kept by customer status, your overall stock is now 7,
  • you have 5 ongoing rentals as of 26/12 or rentals reserved from 26/12, you then have 2 available stock items rentable on 26/12.

An option allows you to display only points of sale with stock in your list.

You can find the detailed status of your already-rented products in the "Statistics for items associated with the product" block. Here you can see items displayed according to their statuses. More information on item statuses.
