How to extend a rental?

Go to the rental to be extended, then click on "Extend" on the right. It is possible to extend a rental in the back-office when a customer wishes to keep their item for a few extra days. The extension allows you to add a new duration to the initial rental without having to create a new rental. It is done simply in three steps: choosing the new end date, displaying the corresponding price, then signing the extension contract. Payment can be made later or immediately, depending on your needs. The price will follow on from the pricing model or the specific price (if there is one) and apply the additional rate. For example: I have defined in my pricing model a rate for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, then each additional day = my customer rents for 2 days, so they pay the 2-day rate. Click on the calendar

Select the new end date The new date is displayed A message indicates whether you have sufficient stock available to extend this rental. If you do not have enough stock, it means everything is reserved — we therefore advise against extending this rental if you do not have backup stock to fulfil subsequent rentals. Click Next

The price to be charged for the additional rental day(s) is displayed Click Next You have the option to "Sign the contract now"

Or to "Sign the contract later" Click "Finish" once the choice has been made or the contract has been signed where applicable Finally, the payment pop-in is displayed You have the option to charge your customer using the same payment methods as usual.

After payment, you can view the list of extension contracts pending signature If you selected the sign contract later option. Select the extension contract to be signed Then click on "Sign the contract"

Once signed by the customer, the "Rental Extension" contract is displayed alongside the other contracts The extension price is displayed in the product details Showing the amount and payment details
