Create complementary products and associate them with products. A complementary product completes a rental product. It cannot be rented independently. It can be, for example, an accessory, a deposit, or insurance.

Go to the Catalog - Products menu. Click on "Complementary Products". Click on "New product".

Fill in the essential information about your product in this first pop-in. Enter the product name as you want it to appear on the platform (back office and front). Enter the SKU of your complementary product (optional field). SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) or Reference corresponds to the unique reference number of a product in your company. If you wish to enter the EAN of your product on the platform, you can also use this field. Add a photo.

Define whether it is a physical product or a service. Verify that the "Complementary product" option is selected. You can only create a standard product. A complementary product cannot be a product bundle. A standard product is a single product available for rental. While a product bundle is a group of products rented together. Ex: a PlayStation rented alone or a PlayStation rented with 2 controllers and 5 games. For more information on product bundles, click here.

When you are done, click on "Create product". Activate your complementary product. Don't forget on this tab to activate your product using the button located at the top right of the product sheet. By default, products are deactivated upon creation. Confirm the product activation.

General information.

You will find here the information entered previously. Only fields with an asterisk are mandatory:

• Product name
• SKU
• Product image
• Family code: this field can contain letters, numbers, or special characters. You can use it if you need to track your products with any reconciliation code specific to your catalog.
• Tax rule
• Product value

Click on "Save" before proceeding to the next action. From this tab, you can either:

• Save your product.
• Delete the product (deletion is permanent and is only possible if your product has never been rented).
• Archive the product: the product is no longer visible on the platform, but the rental history of this product remains in the platform's data sources.

Offers

You can only create one offer per complementary product. By default, an offer is already created with the price entered for the product, and is deactivated. You can click on "Deactivated Offer" to activate it. Click on "Confirm" to activate the offer.

To edit your offer, click on "Edit". Choose the pricing mode for this offer.

• Flat rate: the price will be applied once upon subscription to the rental; the cost remains the same regardless of the duration of the short-term rental or subscription rental.
• Price per period: this price applies in the context of a long-term rental (subscription) if you want a recurring payment for the complementary product price; the cost is billed monthly. When your offer is correctly configured, click on "Save".

Once your complementary product is created, you can associate it with a rental product. To do so, go back to the product list. Click on "Rental products".

Click on the rental product to which the complementary product will be associated. Click on "Edit". Click on the "Complementary products" tab.

In the search field, enter the name of the complementary product to add. Select the complementary product to associate from the list of suggested products. Once your complementary product has been added, you can edit its settings. Click on the three dots at the end of the row on the right.

Select the action of your choice.

• Edit: to define whether this complementary product is a mandatory product.
• Remove: if you no longer wish to offer this complementary product with this rental product, you can simply remove it.

If you clicked on "Edit". You can make the complementary product mandatory. This means that the rental product will necessarily be accompanied by this complementary product. Your customer will have to pay the price of the complementary product, in addition to the price of the rental product. If you choose to make this complementary product non-mandatory, your customer will have the choice: they can add this product in addition to their rental, or not. Click on "Save" to record the changes made.

You can add as many complementary products as you wish to the same rental product. You will need to configure each one individually. Once your complementary products have been added, click on "Save".
