Create an item

A rental item is the physical item that will be handed over or shipped to the customer at the start of the rental. Items can be created in advance manually or by file import, or at the time they are first rented. Here is a detailed description of the three methods.

To manually create an item before a rental Go to the Catalogue - Items menu Click the "New item" button Select the registration location, the product, and enter the desired serial number The registration location is the store to which the item you want to create belongs. You must enter a serial number in order to create an item. Then click "Confirm".

Please note, the product list only appears after entering at least 3 characters in the product search field Once the item is created, click "Close" Confirm on the page that your item has been created

To create items in bulk by file import Still on the Catalogue

• Items page, click the "Import" button. Select the import file that you will have prepared on your computer You will find an example of an import file in the Circle article linked to this tutorial. Click "Import"

Verify that the import is complete Then click "Close" Confirm that your items have been created

To create an item in the context of a product rental We show you the steps to follow in the context of a rental carried out via home delivery. However, the creation process will be very similar in the context of an in-store rental. At the time of shipping the item, go to the Rentals

• Logistics and transport menu. Shipments section, click on the "To be shipped" tab Click on the line of the shipment you are going to process.

The shipment window will open. Click "Add a serial number". Enter the serial number, either by scanning it or by entering it manually. To scan the serial number If you are logged into the back office on a device equipped with a camera or connected to a barcode scanner, you can scan the product label on which the number you want to associate with the item as its serial number appears. The serial number will be automatically read by the platform and associated with the item.

To enter the serial number manually. Enter the digits and/or letters of the number to be associated with the item as its serial number. When you are in the input field, you will be able to either: A - select one of the serial numbers already existing in the platform, and therefore an existing item. B - enter a new number, thereby creating a new item. In all cases, once your serial number has been entered, click "Enter". Click "Confirm and save" to complete the creation and shipment of your item.

The created item is now visible on the rental page and in the items list. Click on its ID to access the detailed rental page. The serial number on the rental page can be found in the products block. The serial number on the item page Go to the Catalogue > Items menu.

You will see on the items page the serial number associated with each item.
