Create a rental product
Go to the Catalog - Products menu In the "Rental products" tab, click on "New product". Fill in the essential information about your product in this first pop-in. Enter the product name here as you want it to appear on the platform (back office and front).
Select the category in which the product will be located. In order to make a product available for rental, you must link it to at least one category. Remember to create your categories before starting to create your products. To learn more about creating categories, click here. Enter your product's SKU The SKU code (Stock Keeping Unit) or Reference corresponds to the unique reference number of a product in your company. If you wish to enter your product's EAN in the platform, you can also use this field. Rental product or complementary product? The rental product can be rented independently. While the complementary product is one that can be rented in addition to a rental product. Example of a complementary product: insurance, a warranty, a protective cover... Standard product or product pack? The standard product is a single product available for rental. The product pack is a group of products rented together. Ex: a PlayStation rented alone or a PlayStation rented with 2 controllers and 5 games. For more info on product packs, click here. Tax rule The selected tax rule will define the VAT rate applied to the rental of the product. Your tax rule must therefore have been created beforehand. For more info on tax rules, click here. Product value The product value is the face value of the product. You can enter it inclusive of all taxes or exclusive of tax, the second value will be calculated automatically based on the previously selected tax rule. This value will only be used for calculations of the deposit amount and penalties to be configured in your advanced settings. For more info on advanced settings, click here.
WARNING! Once your product is created, you must complete its configuration and associate offers with it in order to make the product available for rental. For more info on configuring the rental product, click here.
Archive a product
When you archive a product, it is automatically removed from rental/sale and becomes invisible on the front.
Steps to archive a product:
- Go to the "Products" tab.
- Search for the product to archive and select it.
- Click on "Archive" from the available actions at the top right.
Consequence of archiving: dissociation from categories When a product is archived:
- All categories to which it was associated are automatically removed from it.
- This prevents it from remaining visible via filters or navigation links.
