Create a Google Analytics 4 Property

As of July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics properties will stop processing data from your website. To continue using Google Analytics, you will need to create a new property (GA4) and provide the Google tag generated from it to ZIQY so that we can integrate it into your website. We explain the steps to follow in this article. (To have access to all the options presented, you must have the Editor role in the Analytics account). Go to https://analytics.google.com/ and log in. If you have not yet created a GA4 property, start at step 1 of this article. If you already have a GA4 property, start at step 16 of this article. To create a GA4 property using the setup assistant. Click on the Administration tab.

In the Account column, select the account for which you want to migrate the property. In the Property column, select the UA property that is currently collecting data for your website. Click on GA4 Setup Assistant.

In the window that appears, click on Get Started under "I want to create a Google Analytics 4 property". "Create and continue" or "Create a property". Depending on your current configuration, 2 options may be offered to you. The first, shown on the screen below, is "Create and continue". It will allow you to create and configure your GA4 tag.

The second option, "Create a property", will be displayed if the option "Enable data collection using existing analytics.js and gtag.js tags" is automatically selected. If this option appears, it means that Analytics can reuse your existing Universal Analytics tagging for your GA4 property. Analytics will then create an associated site tag between your Universal Analytics and GA4 properties. We recommend that you follow the step according to what is automatically suggested to you. If you want to make sure of the steps to follow, you can check whether you are already using analytics.js or gtag.js tags by asking your developers, or by inspecting the console of your website. You clicked on "Create and continue". The "Configure a Google tag" page opens and displays the script to be placed on your website, corresponding to your new GA4 property. This is the tag that will need to be shared with us. To copy it, click on the copy icon.

Once your tag is copied, click on Confirm. If you want to retrieve your tag after clicking on Confirm. On the page that appears, click on "Go to your GA4 property". On the page that appears, click on "Go to your GA4 property". In the window that has opened, click on the arrow at the end of the "Collect website and app data" line.

Choose the Manage data streams option. Click on the arrow at the end of your GA4 property line. Click on the View tag instructions line.

Click on the Install manually tab. You will find your GA4 tag there. If you already have a GA4 property. To retrieve your tag, click on Administration when you are on the home page of your Google Analytics account.

Click on the Install manually tab. You will find your GA4 tag there.

Share your tag with ZIQY. Open a ticket with ZIQY support or request an estimate directly from your ZIQY project manager to install the tag on your website. Once your tag is installed, data may take up to 30 minutes to appear in your new GA4 property. To go further
