The family code selection helper for your products in the back-office To make it easier for your teams to create products, you can import a family code file allowing your users to benefit from a selection helper for the family code to configure in newly created product sheets.

Go to the products menu in your catalog, then click on "import a family code selector". Choose the .csv or .xls file to import from your computer by clicking "Browse". Wait for the import to complete before closing the pop-in. The import may take several minutes if your file contains many rows.

Once your file has been imported, selection fields for the family code will appear, corresponding to the column headers in your file, so that you can test it. In our example, the file contains 4 selection columns: => Universe / Segment / Family / Sub-Family To test your file, or to find a family code using this pop-in, fill in the selection form field by field. For each field, a dropdown menu will show all the entries from the corresponding column in your imported file. Once you have filled in each field of the selector, a family code is displayed at the bottom of the selector. You can click on the code to copy it to your clipboard for later use if needed, or simply close the pop-in directly. Click on "use this form" to make the imported file the file to be used by the system.

Once your form is selected (highlighted in green), you can close the pop-in.

The format of the file to import

Create as many columns (column name in the format "col_fieldnametodisplay") as there are fields to fill in when searching for a family code. Depending on the organization of your catalog, each column can correspond to a category, segment, or product family, and follows a funnel logic: each answer selected in the displayed fields brings me closer to the correct family code for the product. The last column (column name in the format "family_code") must imperatively be the family code to associate with the product. In our example selector above, with 4 selection columns: => Universe / Segment / Family / Sub-Family ==> here is the file format to follow in order to obtain the displayed result:

If you only want to change the family code file, you can select a previously imported file in the import pop-in. By clicking on the "All selectors" field, the history of all your previously imported files is displayed. Click on the file you want to use as default to select it. Then click on "use this form" to make it the file to be used by the system. Click on "Close" at the bottom of the pop-in to exit the selection pop-in. Once inside a product sheet, you will find a family code selection helper.

By clicking on the selection helper, you will find the selection form corresponding to your import file. Fill in the form on each of your product sheets to display the family code to associate. Then click on "validate" to populate the family code in the product sheet. After clicking on "validate" in the previous pop-in, the family code resulting from the selector will automatically be populated in the product sheet field. When opening the product sheet, you can also directly paste the family code copied in step 6.
