Custom Fields
Go to the Catalogue - Custom Fields menu Custom fields allow you to collect additional data : • About products: the custom field appears in the product configuration in the back-office and can be used by our technical teams to be displayed on the front-end. • About your customers: the custom field appears in the rental tunnel in the back-office, at the final step (just before payment); or in their customer information on the front-end (when creating their account or on their customer account). • About rentals: the custom field then appears in the cart, before the account creation / login step. • About rented items: the custom field must be filled in by you in the quick rental tunnel by item at the "Cart" step, or at the time of product handover for a rental created via the standard tunnel or via the front-end. Once filled in, it appears in the item detail of the rental in the back-office. Feature included in the PRO and EXPERT plans
To add custom fields to rentals, stay on the "Rentals" tab. You can add up to 5 custom fields. Fill in the first field to create. Don't forget to translate it in all languages. Then click on the gear icon to define the field settings.
You can make the field mandatory. If you choose this option, the field must be filled in to proceed with the rental.
You can define a validation rule for this field. Validation rules allow you to format the collected data. They must be entered in programming language. There is no exhaustive list of regular expressions; these are built depending on what you want to validate. Here are some examples: => Regular expression to validate a French postal code with 5 digits (with "2A" or "2B" for Corsica): /^(2[AB]|[0-9]{2})[0-9]{3}$/ => Regular expression to validate a French licence plate /^(?:[A-Z]{2}-[0-9]{3}-[A-Z]{2}|[0-9]{3}-[A-Z]{3}-[0-9]{2})$/ => Regular expression to validate an email address ^(?!.)(?!...)(- A-Za-z0-9_+.-])[A-Za-z0-9_+-]@([A-Za-z0-9][A-Za-z0-9-]*.)+[A-Za-z]{2,}$
You can define the type of field used Available field types: • Text: your customer can enter whatever they wish. • Numeric: your customer can only enter numbers. • Radio button: give your customer a choice between several predefined options. • Dropdown list: give your customer a choice between several predefined options. • Hidden: the field will not be displayed; this field type is used in specific developments, we advise against using it on its own. In the "Restriction" tab, choose to include or exclude certain product categories. For the rental of products in excluded categories, the custom field will not be displayed. If you choose to include categories instead, the custom field will only be displayed for products in the included categories.
Don't forget to "Save" your work If the field is cleared, it will be automatically deleted Confirmation will be required if you wish to clear this field Result in the BO: In the rental tunnel in the BO, rental custom fields will appear at the "Cart" step, as shown below.
Result on the front-end: On the front-end, your rental custom fields will appear in a pop-in when a product is first added to the cart, as shown below: If you want to collect additional data about customers Click on the "Customers" tab. Think about GDPR compliance If the data you collect about your customers is sensitive data, GDPR regulations require that this data be deleted when it is no longer needed. To do this, 2 fields in the "GDPR" tab must be configured for each customer custom field: • Its deletion delay once the customer account becomes inactive • Its deletion delay once the customer's last rental is completed or cancelled Important: remember to activate the scheduled task "Deletion of customer custom field data" so that the data is deleted. Don't forget to save your work when you are done.
Result in the BO: In the BO, "Customers" custom fields will appear on the customer record (when creating or editing it), as shown below. Result on the front-end: On the front-end, your "Customers" custom fields will appear when creating the customer account, in the sales tunnel, as shown below. They will also appear in the "Personal information" tab of the customer account, so that your customer can modify them if needed. If you want to display specific data about your products The involvement of one of our technicians will be essential to manage the front-end display. Once your design has been modified by our team, you can manage the custom fields for your products in the corresponding tab.

Result in the BO: In the configuration of your products, a new "Custom Fields" tab is accessible. You can fill in the product custom fields for each of your products. This completed information can then be used by our integrator to display it on the product page on the front-end.
If you want to retain data specific to an item in the context of a rental Click on the "Rented Items" tab. The "Rented Items" custom fields are used to collect additional information related to the use or specific characteristics of rented products. This data allows you to: • adapt the product to the customer (e.g. dimensions, technical settings, specific options); • ensure safety and compliance in the case of legal standards or regulatory obligations; • trace and retain certain information to guarantee reliable tracking of the rental service.
