Item statuses

Items can have different statuses: Reserved, In progress, Under repair, Lost, Broken, In stock, In transit, End of life, and Archived. They move from one to another based on their condition and the rental journey they enter when handed over to customers.

The different statuses Archived: This status should only be used to delete an item created by mistake. It should not be used to delete an item that has already been rented. Once in this status, the item is removed from your catalog and can no longer be rented. Archiving an item does not affect your global stock — you must adjust your global stock manually if necessary. In particular, if you archive a Lost, Broken, or End of life item: you will need to manually remove 1 from the global stock to compensate for the quantity of the lost, broken, or end-of-life item that will no longer be deducted from the global stock after archiving. Since available stock is calculated based on global stock, archived items are therefore also not deducted from the available stock calculation. Reserved: If you are connected to a logistics provider via API, the latter can trigger the creation of an item as soon as it is being prepared, with a validated status. If the item is ultimately never handed over or sent to the customer, it will remain in validated status and can be rented as part of another rental. In progress: The item has been rented (it is in the customer's hands) and has not yet been returned — it cannot be rented. It is counted in the global stock but does not affect the available stock of the product. Under repair: The item has been returned and reported as damaged but repairable — it cannot be rented. After repair, the item's status must be updated on the platform for it to be available for rental again. It is counted in the global stock but has no impact on the available stock of the product. Lost: The item has been rented but has not been returned — it can no longer be rented. It is deducted from the global stock, which also reduces the available stock of the product. Broken: The item has been returned and reported as damaged and non-repairable — it cannot be rented. It is deducted from the global stock, which also reduces the available stock of the product. In stock: The item is available in stock and can be rented. It is counted in the global stock and does not affect the available stock of the product. In transit: The item has been rented and returned, but a "transit" delay has been defined before returned products become available. It cannot be rented. It is counted in the global stock but not in the available stock of the product. Awaiting return: The item has been rented (it is in the customer's hands) and is awaiting return — it cannot be rented. It is counted in the global stock but does not affect the available stock of the product. End of life: The item exits the rental journey and will no longer be rented. It is deducted from the global stock, which also reduces the available stock of the product.

Being restocked: The item has been manually placed in this status — it cannot be rented. For the item to be available for rental again, its status must be updated on the platform. It is counted in the global stock but is removed from the available stock for rental. Available for sale only: The item can be sold. This status has no impact on stock. Sold: The item exits the rental journey and will no longer be rented. It is deducted from the global stock, which also reduces the available stock of the product. Kept by the customer: The item exits the rental journey and will no longer be rented. It is deducted from the global stock, which also reduces the available stock of the product. Item statuses are visible on the Items page, under the Catalogue - Articles menu.
