Why am I stuck in the rental creation process?

Why am I stuck in the rental creation process?

You are unable to create a rental from the back-office. Your customer cannot place an order from the front-end. You are stuck at a step without understanding what the problem is. We have listed in this article the most common reasons why a rental is not possible, and the checks to carry out accordingly.

Is the category in which you want to rent a product active? Check that your category is active (Catalogue - Categories menu). If not, activate it.

Does the product you want to rent have available stock? Check in the back-office that you have available stock for the product you want to rent, at the applicable point of sale and/or warehouse, on your chosen dates. If you want to rent a pack, check the stock of all the products making up the pack. You will need to have as much available quantity as you wish to rent (if you want to rent 10x a product, it must have an available quantity of at least 10 during the desired period).

Does the product you want to rent have an active offer? Check in the back-office that your product has an active offer. If not, create and activate an offer.

Is your payment configuration correct? Are the payment methods you want to offer your customers activated and configured? To check that they are activated, go to the Settings - My Activity menu, and verify that your payment methods are enabled (check that they are properly activated on the front-end and/or back-office according to your needs). To verify that your online payment method is properly configured, go to the Administration - Online Payment menu, and check that your configuration is complete. As a reminder, subscription payments require online payment to be activated. It is impossible for your customers to pay for a subscription via any other payment method.

Is the selected point of sale authorized to accept online payments? Check in the back-office that your point of sale accepts online payments. Go to the Settings tab of your point of sale, and verify that the "Online Payment" setting is active.

Are the point of sale's contact details correct? Check in the back-office that the GPS coordinates of your point of sale are correctly configured and exist. Use Google Maps to obtain precise coordinates.

Is geolocation correctly configured? If you are unable to display a list of cities at the "Withdrawal Method" step, this is probably due to your geolocation configuration. Go to the Settings - General Configuration menu, in the "Geolocation Service" block, and check that your API key is correctly filled in. Also, check on the side of your geolocation service provider that your site's URL is authorized to use this API.

Are you too far from your nearest pickup point? When you use geolocation to find the nearest pickup points to you (from the back-office as well as from the front-end), it is possible that the system cannot suggest an available pickup point if you have configured a search radius that is too limited. Check in the Settings - General Configuration menu, in the "Geolocation Service" block, whether you have configured a store search radius that is too restrictive or not (if you have configured a radius of 100km, your customer is located in Lille, and your nearest pickup point is in Lyon, it will not be suggested to them).

Does a tax rule exist for your country? Go to the Settings - Billing & Taxes menu, then click on the Taxes tab. Check that your country has a tax rule configured. If you have configured in the "Default Settings" that taxes apply based on your customer's address, you will also need to ensure that a tax rule exists for your customer's country.

Have you correctly configured a carrier for remote delivery? Go to the Administration - Delivery and Carriers menu, and check that you have at least one active carrier.

Is your customer's postal code authorized for delivery? Go to the Administration - Delivery and Carriers menu, then click on the "Home Delivery Configuration" tab. Check that your customer's postal code is not blacklisted, or that there is no whitelist excluding your customer's postal code.

Does your customer have a saved address? Check that your customer is fully created and that their address exists.
