Simplify product selection in the rental tunnel in BO

If you have a large number of products to manage in your catalog, category hierarchy allows you to simplify product selection from the rental tunnel in BO.

You can configure a parent category for each category. Since a category that already has a parent category can also be the parent category of another category, and so on... there is no limit to the number of category levels you can configure.

This hierarchical category configuration is only used in BO and does not impact the front-end.

The result in the BO rental tunnel is shown to you in the next step.

In your BO rental tunnel, when you select a parent category, its child categories are automatically displayed.

In our example, we selected the "Saison Winter" category, which automatically displayed the dropdown list of its child categories on the right.

And so on until reaching the smallest sub-category.

This allows you to refine your categories, so that only the products matching your needs are displayed.

In the next step, we show you how to ensure that a product is only displayed in its child category (the smallest one), if that is your need.

If you want a product, in the BO rental tunnel, to appear in only one category, this is possible.

To do so, when your product is associated with multiple categories, use the "Référencer ce produit dans une seule catégorie dans le tunnel BO" feature, and select the corresponding category from the dropdown list.

This allows you to:

• Display your product in multiple categories on the front-end (if a product is assigned to multiple categories, it appears in each of those categories on the front-end)
• While only displaying this product in a single category in the BO tunnel, to simplify selection for your sales staff
